DSG Accounting is the work of brothers David and Alan Giffard, who grew up on a dairy farm in northern Victoria. In recent years, the practice has gone 'gangbusters' as word spreads around Bendigo about some young upstart accountants who are actually prepared to have a beer with their clients in a late afternoon meeting. That's why we've had to poach some of Bendigo's finest accountants and admin staff, adding Jess, Kara and Prue to the mix.
Apart from accounting, Dave is a superb backyard cricketer (his words!), keen paintballer and an average football player (not his words). Dave started his own practice back in 2010 after nearly 10 years with other firms. He has lived and worked in Melbourne and North Queensland before settling in Bendigo in 2005. Dave is married with three young children. As a classic nerd, Dave spends his spare time telling other accountants what to do, as part of the CPA Public Practice Committee.
Alan is arguably the more awesome of the two, and his accounting prowess aside, is best known for picking up two touches in the half-time 'Little League' match during Essendon v Geelong at the MCG in 1995. After his fame from that match faded, he worked at the Australian Tax Office for many years, where he managed a team of auditors looking closely at the affairs of "Wealthy Australians" (also known as 'rich big wigs'). He's also pretty handy at creating websites and advising on online marketing.
